Class 5 Air Brake Endorsement
In British Columbia, anyone who operates a vehicle equipped with air brakes must have an air brake endorsement, also known as Code 15. This applies to commercial trucks, buses, and some large recreational vehicles (RVs).
Meet the prerequisites: You must be at least 16 years old and hold a valid B.C. passenger vehicle license (Class 5 or 7N)

Complete an approved air brake course: Take a training course from an ICBC-approved driving school. The course typically includes at least 7 hours of theory and 4 hours of practical training, covering the system's function and proper maintenance.

Study for the knowledge test: Before the test, review the relevant sections in the Driving Commercial Vehicles manual, available through ICBC. Many driving schools also offer practice tests.

Pass the knowledge test: Go to an ICBC driver licensing office to write the Air Brake Knowledge Test. You have three attempts to pass. If you fail all three, you must take the 7-hour theory course again.

Pass the practical pre-trip inspection test: The practical test involves a hands-on air brake inspection 4 hour, which can be done at our facility.
